ARCO Cinema #2

Arte7 Escuela de Cine, Querétaro

ARCO Cinema #2 brought the community together for the local premiere of México Wizard Style — a short film produced by ARCO Skating and directed by Pablo López, first shown at re:Turn Berlin 2026 — accompanied by an international selection of works screened at that same gathering. Across nearly 1 hour and 40 minutes, the Querétaro audience got to see, on the big screen, pieces from Mexico, Canada, the United States, the Czech Republic, Greece, France, Spain, and Germany — materials that normally circulate only within specialized festivals. Beyond skating, the showcase opened a space to meet and talk about the creativity, identity, and community built around movement. Photos from the event will be added soon.

At re:Turn Berlin 2026 we brought the P-Star · In Wizard Style Lines workshop as an invitation to approach the position from within: not as an isolated trick, but as a creative center from which lines emerge. We started by breaking down body mechanics — edges, weight distribution, and balance points — then explored different entries and transitions into swivels, tsunamis, and direction changes with continuity. It was a day of shared exploration, where beginners and intermediates worked from their own bodies and walked away with tools to improvise and understand flow from a new place.

This clinic returned to the essence of ARCO: balance, control, intention, and body awareness in motion. Rather than accumulating tricks for the sake of it, the focus was on understanding why we move the way we move and building a foundation that supports everything else. For those coming from previous workshops it was a natural continuation; for those joining for the first time, a great entry point into the style.

Morada Cultural, Querétaro

The first Arco Cinema was a gathering to look at the Wizard style from a different angle: film, conversation, and shared inspiration. We watched Permafried, RE•EMBARK, and Base Odyssey, then opened a dialogue table to exchange ideas and reflections on what we'd seen. The night closed with the community spirit that defines ARCO: coming together not only to skate, but also to understand and celebrate the culture around movement.

In this edition we brought ARCO to Invasión Roller Querétaro with a session centered on warm-up, mobility, and Wizard style fundamentals such as Trees, Gazelles, and Lions. Beyond the technical side, the event served as a gathering point to share practice, curiosity, and community. It was an opportunity to bring the style closer to new skaters and continue expanding the project.

This was ARCO's first official workshop and represented an important step in shaping the project. The session focused on building solid foundations, developing a better understanding of movement, and continuing to gather a community interested in exploring the Wizard style through body awareness, technique, and creativity. It was a key moment to move from an initial test into a proposal with its own identity.

Special Strength & Flexibility Session

Querétaro

In this session we took practice to another level with targeted flexibility and strength work guided by @miranda.movs. The idea was to understand that progress on wheels also depends on how we care for and develop our bodies off skates. We closed with a brief Wizard style exploration, connecting physical preparation with fluidity, control, and confidence in movement.

This pilot workshop marked the beginning of ARCO. During the session we shared an introduction to the Wizard style, explored frame setups, worked on body mobility, and made a first dive into the core movements. There was also frame testing so attendees could directly experience the sensations of the style. It was a first meeting point to plant the seeds of a community built around the exploration of movement on wheels.
